This Privacy Policy explains what information the SEO Audit app ("the App", "we", "us") accesses when you install it on your Shopify store, how that information is used, and the choices you have. The App helps merchants audit and improve the SEO of their own products inside the Shopify admin.
Information we access
With your permission (the access scopes you approve at install), the App reads data from your store through the Shopify Admin API in order to run SEO checks and apply fixes you request:
- Product data — titles, descriptions, handles, SEO (meta) titles and descriptions, images, and related fields, used to run the SEO audit and to write back optimized content when you click to apply a fix (
read_products,write_products). - Collections, pages & blog posts — their titles, content, and SEO (meta) titles and descriptions, read to run the SEO audit and written back only when you choose to apply a fix (
read_content,read_online_store_pages,write_content,write_online_store_pages). - Store legal/policy pages — read only to evaluate store-level SEO and trust checks (
read_legal_policies). - Authentication & session data — the store domain and the access token Shopify issues at install, required to keep your session and call the API on your behalf.
The App does not request access to, collect, or store your customers' personal information, orders, or payment details.
How we use information
- To run SEO audits and generate a health score for your products.
- To generate and, when you choose to apply it, write optimized SEO content (meta titles and descriptions, and product/collection copy) back to a product, collection, page, or blog post.
- To authenticate your store and operate the App's features.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Data storage and retention
The only data the App stores is the Shopify session record (your store domain and access token) needed to keep you signed in. Product data is read on demand to display audit results and is not retained after the request. We retain the session record for as long as the App is installed.
Data deletion and your rights
The App implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks:
- App uninstalled — when you uninstall the App, your store's session records are deleted.
- Shop redact — on Shopify's shop-redaction request (sent after uninstall), any remaining session data for your store is deleted.
- Customer data request / Customer redact — the App stores no customer personal data, so these requests are acknowledged with no data to return or erase.
You can also request deletion at any time by uninstalling the App or by contacting us at the address below.
Security
Access tokens are stored in the App's database and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We restrict access to the data needed to operate the App.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
